This face in the piece was constructed with the use of free-hand continuous drawing. The background was inspired by the collusion that often fills up our minds throughout our lives. The graphic drawings dictate this chaos. A burning technique was used to achieve the look of a smooth and translucent brain. Overall, the idea for this piece came from a black and white photo of a poor and desolate African American woman with a single tear dripping from her eye.
