Students learnt about major printmaking techniques through demonstration and project-based, hands-on class activities. Basic elements of art in the printed compositions are stressed in the course. German Expressionist painter and printmaker Ernst Ludwig Kirchner once made the remark on the art form of printmaking, “The technical procedures doubtless release energies in the artist that remain unused in the much more lightweight processes of drawing or painting”. Showing here are relief woodblock prints and Monoprints students learnt to make during the course. The subjects covered include Landscape, Collage and Abstraction.
