Bobcat Jump

Bobcat sightings are extremely rare in the wild. Most often, the elusive cat avoids any encounter with humans. I captured the image in Yellowstone National Park, on a day when a river separated the exquisite animal from human curiosity. The bobcat’s greyish brown coat and whiskered face resemble the typical features of a domesticated house cat, except for the long strand of black hair flowing from the tip of her black tufted ears. The bobcat’s size doubles that of the average feline friend, and her bobbed tail is noticeably shorter. This action shot easily showed the cat’s graceful agility. She landed perfectly on the rocky surface, content to take a brief seat in the slow moving current.
