Every night after dinner, Father played this game with me for hours. When I couldn't keep my eyes open, he would carry me to bed and tell me the story of the sea turtles.
“The sea turtles are brave and tenacious. Mommy sea turtle gives birth to a hundred baby eggs and leaves for the ocean. All the babies have to push themselves out of the egg shell and crawl into the ocean all on their own, protecting themselves with their own soft frail bodies. They had no father or mother to protect them. Out of the hundred babies, only one or two grow into grown-up turtles...”
父親下班回家會陪我玩整個晚上，累了，他就抱我上床，給我講海龜的故事。他說，海龜是最堅強的動物，因為海龜媽媽生下上百隻寶寶，只有一兩隻能夠長大成大海龜。他們在沙灘破蛋而出，就要爬進海洋，用小小的身軀保護自己，沒有母親也沒有父親照顧，所以所有大海龜都是勇敢堅強的。
