八路軍在百團大戰攻佔井陘礦時，在戰火中救出被日軍遺棄的日本小姑娘美穗子。聶榮臻將軍照顧她，並寫信給日軍片山旅團，囑將小姑娘轉交她的親人，並派人將她送到日本軍營。
During the Hundred Regiments Campaign, the Eighth Route Army troops rescued two Japanese girls, whose parents were killed in the Jingxing Mine Battle. One of them was Mihoko. Nie wrote a personal letter to the enemy commander and assigned people to carry the girls back to the Japanese side.
